Lords call for Rock audit

Upper house calls for Northern Rock to be put under the audit spotlight by the Bank of England

The House of Lords has demanded that the Bank of England audit Northern Rock
within three months.

The upper house also called for the nationalised bank to be independently
reviewed on an annual basis.

Peers have passed amendments that would open Northern Rock up to freedom of
information laws, but the moves are currently being being blocked by the
Treasury, the
Daily
Telegraph
reported.
