KPMG have been appointed administrators for corporate event companies THA
Group Ltd and Thomas Hannah & Associates Ltd, smeweb.com reported.

Leicester-based THA Group Ltd, the main trading company, employed 56 workers
– 48 of which where made redundant with immediate effect.

KPMG’s Richard Philpott and Mark Orton have been appointed to run the
administration of the 17-year-old business based in Thurmaston, Leicester,
according to smeweb.

Philpott, said the company had been hurt by the recession with spending down.

“The business has been suffering due to the decline in spending in the
corporate entertainment sector. Unfortunately it cannot continue to trade in its
current format and we will now be exploring options for the company,” he said.

THA Group Ltd’s sister company Quorn Business Travel Ltd continues to trade.
