Sarbox scam reported to SEC
Members contacted by false scheme urged to report matter to police
A scam in which individuals pretend to be members of the Financial Accounting
Standards Board, in order to sell Sarbanes-Oxley compliance material, has been
reported to the US Securities and
Exchange Commission.
The Financial Accounting
Foundation, who issued the warning yesterday after some of its members were
contacted by the dubious parties, has also reported the matter to law
enforcement.
Organisations and individuals who may have been contacted to the scheme have
been advised to contact local authorities.
