Olympic FD appointment delayed
The announcement of the person to take control of the finances for London's 2012 Olympic bid has been delayed.
The key position of finance director was due to be announced last week by Barbara Cassani, the bid chairman, but a spokesman told Accountancy Age, this was being delayed because of ‘another appointment’.
The spokesman said the committee was hoping to making the announcement shortly.
Whoever is named will take charge of £13m worth of bid finances, although this will be dwarfed by the actual cost of running the games in the capital city, which is estimated to top £2.4bn if London is successful.
