In the article ‘A bridge too far’ in last week’s edition of Accountancy Age, we said the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland ‘admits some members through experience rather than formal qualification’.

We now accept that this is not the case. Entry to membership is based on a combination of professional examinations and a minimum of three years experience for university graduates. We would like to apologise for the error and regret any offence given to members of the CPA Institute.
