Viztopia in vogue at JM

Last week’s article about Manchester-based reseller JM Computer’s decision to drop CSM’s taxation and practice management software overlooked the role played by Viztopia. After ending its 11-year relationship with CSM, JM now sells and instals Viztopia’s accounts production and practice management products in addition to FDS’s Taxpoint range.

Jumping the Web train Baker Tilly, the top 20 accountancy firm, has jumped on the Internet service bandwagon by sponsoring and investing in Totalise, the Internet Service Provider. Totalise will issue free shares to subscribers, giving them two thirds of the equity. URL:

Touchstone expands Financial software supplier, Touchstone Group, has acquired Systems Union reseller Resource Systems for an initial consideration of £644,000. Touchstone Group will also make an additional payment of £756,000. In the year to 31 March 1999, London-based Resource Systems made operating profits of £61,000 on turnover of £1.6m. Resource Systems sells SunSystems, System Union’s mid-market accounting package.
