Sema Group has had its desktop outsourcing contract with British American Tobacco extended. Worth £54m over eight years, the deal will see Sema offering BAT a more managed service. Logica has won a £4.2m contract with IPE to manage its IT applications and provide software development. IPE is a European energy futures and options market. IT consultancy Ecsoft has clinched a £3m three-year outsourcing deal with Booker Cash and Carry. Ecsoft will provide helpdesk services, plus desktop and applications support for Booker’s mainframe and UNIX systems. Parity Solutions has been appointed by The Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions to develop an administration system to support The Rent Service. The contract is initially worth £1.5m. Parity will cover the analysis, design, software development, installation and maintenance of the system infrastructure. PMP Consultancy has been selected to undertake a feasibility study for a leisure and tourism development at Calder Grove near Wakefield. Based on PMP’s findings, Milnerbuild is considering a marina development in the area. Plaut International Management Consulting has signed an outsourcing contract to supply IT services to Dynacast. The contract is worth £300,000. As part of the agreement Plaut will provide support for Dynacast’s new SAP ERP project. AFA Systems has clinched a £370,000 deal with the Business Bank. AFA will implement its Musketeer package into the company’s treasury management system. WS Atkins has been appointed as work service manager for the Ministry of Defence’s High Wycombe Group. This comprises command and control centres for NATO operations at High Wycombe and Northwood. WS Atkins will also be responsible for maintaining the VIP airport at RAF Northolt. CMG has helped implement an electronic corporate banking facility in Germany for Barclay’s Bank. Barclay’s invested £600,000 in the system. Unisys has linked up with Saatchi and Saatchi to aid the creative company in its business continuity planning. The scheme will allow Saatchi and Saatchi to track business continuity planning in its agencies as well as determining risk exposure. Hornagold & Hills has been appointed project manager for a proposed business park in West London. The one-million square-foot park will include the new headquarters for Guinness. PMP Consultancy has been selected by the University of Warwick to advise on a new state-of-the-art health and fitness centre. PMP’s appraisal is due to be completed by the end of the year. Infinium Software has won a £100,000 contract to supply HR, payroll and training software for the human resource department of the Wise Group. The system will allow the tracking of personnel records across its two sites. Cap Gemini has clinched a $30m contract with the General Motors Acceptance Corporation. Cap Gemini will provide a new retail contract management and administration system, which will be deployed in 33 countries. Parity Solutions, a part of the Parity Group, has been appointed by BT to assist in the development of a series of new IT systems. Worth £800,000, these will reduce call-handling times and provide access to help and product information.
