Administrators for Southampton Leisure Holdings have described the Football League’s decision to deduct ten points from the club as ‘outrageous’, a move it took after receiving a report by Grant Thornton

Begbies Traynor’s Mark Fry and David Hudson, joint administrators of
Southampton Leisure said they would appeal the Football League’s decision to
deduct points from the already relegated team. ‘The ten-point deduction is
outrageous coming from the Football League, whose own charter says it is a
“listening organisation”,’ said Fry in The Times.

GT’s report concluded that the holding company’s income derived from the
football club and stadium company, and the holding company, club and stadium
company are ‘inextricably linked’ as one entity, stated the Football League.
