Seven of the largest global accountancy firms have joined forces to publish a survey providing an overview of the disparities between national and global accounting rules.The survey revealed that all national rules from 53 countries are significantly different from each other. Brian Shearer, technical partner at Grant Thornton, said: ‘Convergence of accounting standards is an urgent issue because of our worldwide internet information systems and increasingly global capital markets.’
