Optimism sweeps UK tech industry
A renewed sense of optimism is sweeping the UK's technology industry, as the market starts to recover sooner than previously thought.
That is the view of Phil Nelson, show director at Penton Technology Media, organiser of this year’s Internet World UK technology show.
New research by the company indicated 73% of technology firms are now optimistic about the industry’s future, while 68% believe the worst of the downturn is over.
The latest statistics from Internet World are supported by recent figures from the Centre for Economics and Business Research, which maintained that IT spend in the UK is set to rise by 6.4% by the end of 2002.
