FASB's Herz re-appointed for second term

The US Financial Accounting
Standards Board chairman, Robert
Herz, has been reappointed into a second five-year term.
The former PricewaterhouseCoopers US leader of professional, technical, risk
and quality leader, has also recently championed simplification and the need to
reduce complexities saddling financial reporting systems.
Herz has also led the board into moves to integrate volumes of
non-governmental accounting pronouncements and to stop further announcements
from multiple sources.
He’s also backed moves to develop accounting standards which are more
principles-based, following suit with
international trends. Herz’s new term begins on July 1.
