Morrisons eyes Lloyds FD as non-exec
Embattled retailer Wm Morrison is trying to recruit Lloyds TSB finance director Helen Weir as a non-executive director
Wm Morrison is believed to be chasing the services of Lloyds TSB FD Helen Weir as one of its four new non-executive directors.
The supermarket chain is hoping Weir, who is reported to have met with executive chairman Sir Ken Morrison last week, will sign up during the coming week.
According to the Financial Times Morrisons is eager to recruit Weir because of her extensive financial expertise and retail experience.
It is hoped that Weir, who was previously finance director of B&Q and Kingfisher, will be able to help the retailer iron out difficulties with its internal accounting systems after the £3.3bn acquisition of Safeway.
