Tenon acquires Aberdeen-based Skene & Co

Mid-tier firm boosts its Scottish offices and range of services

Tenon has acquired Aberdeen-based accountancy firm, Skene & Co in a move
designed to boost its locally available services.

Skene & Co’s proprietor, Willie Skene, and his team of 16 staff will join
Tenon with immediate effect. The Tenon Recovery office in Aberdeen – comprising
four staff and headed by Iain Fraser – will relocate to the Skene offices over
the next few weeks.

Skene will become director in charge of the Aberdeen office and, together
with Iain Fraser and his staff, will form an office of more than 20 with an
annual fee income in excess of £1m.

Alan Newton, head of Tenon in Scotland, said: ‘Tenon is delighted to acquire
Skene & Co, which has an excellent reputation in the marketplace. This
acquisition strengthens the depth of service we are able to offer our clients in
Aberdeen and throughout the North East. We are very much looking forward to
working with Willie Skene and his team’.

Tenon Group’s previous acquisition of a Rochdale office and tax specialists
Premier Strategies helped boost its profits in the last quarter of 2004 by 25%.

The mid-tier firm, which specialises in private and owner-managed businesses,
now has about 300 staff in seven offices in Scotland and 1500 employees
throughout the UK.
