Advanced PayPoint Solutions, a management buyout from Pegasus Software Ltd, plans to rapidly expand its retail IT offering in the independent retail market.
The package will be based on the existing Pegasus Retail Solution but will not be tied to a particular accounting software platform.
Backed by Avanti, the company will supply both software and hardware through its existing 25-strong reseller channel.
The company says PayPoint will focus on the single to 30 branch retail market, providing electronic point of sale support.
By moving the software to an ‘open platform’ the company claims it will be able to run with a broad range of accounting packages.
Nicholas Fraser, who will head up the new company, is aiming to form a number of strategic partnerships, particularly in the leisure, tourism and hospitality sectors.
‘I’m also looking to double the reseller channel to support this growth,’ said Fraser.
