    Cardoso: Andersen's new man at the top

    Aldo Cardoso, the new chief executive of Andersen Worldwide, joined the French firm back in 1979, becoming a partner ten years later.

    The 46-year old Frenchman rose through the ranks to become country managing partner and then regional managing partner for France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

    The holder of a masters degree in law from the famous Sorbonne university, Cardoso specialised in financial consulting, including restructuring, IPO and M&A work.

    He has been chairman of the Andersen Worldwide board of partners since 2000.

    Cardoso will face the unenviable task of effectively presiding over the break up of the once might Andersen world empire.
