District Audit picks up Audit Commission award

A new audit technique has helped District Audit snatch the prestigious Audit Commission Read Award.

The new technique helps local authorities achieve service improvements by analysing their policy implementation processes.

The Read award is presented annually for the most notable contribution to external audit in local government and the NHS.

The award winning entry called Policy In Practice examines processes by which top-level decisions are converted into action.

David Prince of District Audit, said: ‘Once again District Audit has been able to show that it is at the forefront of innovative new practice.’
