Best value website established
Senior local government officers have set up a best value bulletin board on the Internet to help communicate best practice between councils and the rest of the public sector,.
Established by the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers, the site is designed to host reports on best value issues and receive contributions from all relevant sources. Public-sector consultancy Barony is hosting and managing the site.
With debate raging on the shift from the compulsory competitive tendering system for local government service provision to the government’s best value scheme, Barony is confident the site will become a significant reference point for those working in both the private and public sectors.
