The adoption of a standard language for the electronic reporting of financial
information will come a step closer with the formation of standards board by
XBRL International, the consortium working toward global adoption of Extensible
Business Reporting Language.
The board will work to upgrade XBRLtechnical materials and to oversee and
monitor their production, WebCPA reported.
Michael Ohata of Microsoft has been appointed as the founding standards board
chair and he has issued a call for nominations to other positions.
Ohata serves as controller of reporting standards at Microsoft.
Until all seats on the board have been filled, the consortium will set up an
interim board
