Poynter is UK's best paid accountant

PricewaterhouseCoopers' first ever UK annual report has revealed that Kieran Poynter, the firm's chairman, is the highest paid UK accountant in practice.

Poynter earned £1.485m, according to the report, putting him just ahead of Mike Rake, UK senior partner at KPMG, who earned £1.45m, according to the firm’s 2002 annual report.

Nick Land, Ernst & Young’s UK chairman earned £1.042m, according to its 2002 results.

Salary figures for John Connolly, chief executive and senior partner at Deloitte, have not yet been revealed.
