Tootsies enters administration

Tootsies pre-pack by BDO's joint administrators saves 278 jobs

Restaurant chain Tootsies has entered into administration, with BDO partners
appointed to the ailing business.

Shay Bannon and Antony Nygate of
BDO
were appointed joint administrators, with 11 restaurants sold in a pre-pack deal
to Giraffe Concepts, protecting 278 jobs.

However 202 jobs were lost when the remaining ten outlets were closed. BDO is
looking for buyers for these leases.

Bannon said: “It is unfortunate that due to the economic climate and
difficult trading conditions that a significant number of restaurants were loss
making, which threatened the viability of the whole group. We’re pleased to have
safeguarded the future of 11 restaurants and 278 jobs.”
