Watchdog draws up plan for Big Three

The FSA is involved in a project to draw up contingency plans should one of the Big four collapse

Kari Hale, the regulator’s accounting and audit sector leader, told
Accountancy Age this week that the FSA was involved in government
preparations for the possibility. ‘We are continuing to work on them, but it
would be premature to say anything now.’

The former Deloitte and Andersen partner hints at a possible return to the
private sector.

‘My work has brought me into contact with the Big Four and the importance of
their work. I think I could see myself going back into the auditing world. I
have a renewed passion for and sense of the value of a good and external audit,’
he said.
