Stock exchange FD takes up non-exec role at Emap

has been drafted onto the board of
Emap today. The
publishing group announced that Howell had been appointed as a non-executive
director commencing the beginning of this week.

In a statement, the corporate, which boast titles such as FHM and
Heat and owns the Kiss radio network said: ‘The board of Emap plc
announces the appointment of Jonathan Howell as a non-executive director with
effect from 12 March 2007.’

Howell has overseen finance at the London Stock Exchange since December 1999.
He joined the Exchange in 1996 from
PricewaterhouseCoopers and
rose the corporate ladder to become head of market regulation in 1998 and
director of regulation from March 1999, before taking over as FD.  

On Howell’s appointment, Emap chairman Alun Cathcart said: ‘I am delighted to
welcome Jonathan to the Board. His breadth and depth of experience in both
financial and UK plc board matters will be a great asset and we look forward to
working with him.’
