Alpha Airports appoints new FD

Alpha Airports, which saw its finance director and chief executive step down
after accounting problems, has appointed a new FD and company secretary.

Mark Adams, former CFO of STA Travel Group, has taken on the FD role, while
Andrew Magowan will serve as company secretary and general counsel.

Adams has held several high-profile FD roles, including spells at Prism Rail,
Field Group and Burnfield.

He joins a board that includes new chief executive Peter Williams, a former
Selfridges FD and chief executive.

Alpha Airports was suspended from trading in April after its audit firm
PricewaterhouseCoopers withdrew approval of the group’s accounts because of a
contract the company had secured with Gatwick-based charter airline Excel

The suspension was lifted after a special committee had found that the
company had ‘made certain statements to PwC, which misrepresented the true
effect’ of the contract, and that ‘material aspects’ of the contract were ‘not
genuine transactions’.
