Nish steps up to chief at Standard Life

David Nish to get promotion from FD to become chief executive at investment group

Standard Life group FD David Nish will step up to chief executive from the
start of 2010.

Nish, who has served as the head of finance at the investment firm since
November 2006, will succeed Sir Sandy Crombie on 1 January.

He held senior positions at
Scottish
Power
, and was previously a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

“David has a proven track record in our business, and has played a pivotal
role in the delivery of our strategy since he joined the company,” said Gerry
Grimstone, chairman of
Standard
Life
.

“In these challenging markets, it is vital that we maintain the momentum we
have built and I am very much looking forward to taking over from Sir Sandy to
lead the company to what I hope will be even greater future success,” said Nish.
