Confidence among small and medium-sized companies has dropped, according to Confederation of British Industry figures released this week. In the CBI’s quarterly industrial trends survey, optimism was found to have fallen for the second successive survey. Thirty nine per cent of companies polled were less optimistic than four months ago, while 19% were more positive about their prospects.
