Black's right-hand man - and the prosecution's star witness - David Radler takes the stand in fraud trial
Conrad Black’s right-hand man David Radler has indicated the level of his
closeness to the tycoon on his first day of testifying at Black’s trial in
Chicago.
Radler, the former COO of
Hollinger,
said: ‘I didn’t make a financial decision without consulting Conrad Black.’
Radler is the prosecution’s star witness, testifying under a plea agreement
that will allow him a lighter sentence in a Canadian prison for his role in the
alleged irregularities at the newspaper group.
The defence is set to
attack
Radler’s credibility in corss-examination today.
