Tracy Wood, the youngest person ever to be made partner at
Y has received Royal recognition for the significant contribution she has
made to business and industry in the UK.
Queen hosted a lunchtime reception in Buckingham Palace’s state rooms for
more than 200 prominent women including Carolyn McCall, chief executive of
Guardian Newspapers; Karen Brady, MD of Birmingham City Football Club and Sharon
Tracy said, ‘I was deeply honoured to receive an invitation and attend the
reception that celebrates the achievements of women in business. There was a
great deal of energy in the room from inspirational women who had great passion
for their work.’
Born in the US and brought up in Lancashire, Wood made E&Y history by
becoming the firm’s youngest ever partner at the age of 28, just four years
after joining the firm.
Last year, Wood was also named as one of Britain’s brightest young

most inspirational women to watch in their chosen commercial field.
