Watchdog lays out nine questions for local governments to ensure better projects
Local governments have been given a set of guidelines to help them deliver
more successful public sector IT projects.
Coming on the back of the disastrous
NHS IT upgrade, the
National Audit Office guide includes nine
questions which local government organisations should answer before proceeding
with a new technology project.
The questions focus on managing change, decision-making structures,
performance incentives and managing skills, which the NAO believes are key to
success.
These are: senior-level engagement, active participation on behalf of
clients, and winning support for change.
