E&Y faces MPs probe over Railtrack
Ernst & Young, administrator for the failed Railtrack, is set to face a grilling today from parliament's transport sub-committee over its role in the collapse of the rail infrastructure company.
Alan Bloom and his team will be appearing alongside directors of Railtrack this afternoon to face the committee, chaired by Labour MP Gwyneth Dunwoody.
E&Y was appointed as special rail administrator earlier in October after transport secretary Stephen Byers pulled the plug on the ailing company.
The committee was originally due to discuss the future of rail franchising, but the agenda was changed to reflect the Railtrack developments.
The administrators will only have to endure an hour of questioning as representatives from a number of the train operating companies are due to appear before the committee as well today.
