Elisabeth Hickey, a former technical director of Ernst & Young in New Zealand, was appointed to the position of director of education at the IASCF earlier this week.

Her responsibilities will be made up of assisting in the preparation of explanatory and educational materials related to International Financial Reporting Standards, assuring the quality of educational products carrying the IASC logo and for general educational activities.

Sir David Tweedie, chief executive of the IASCF and the International Accounting Standards Board, welcomed Hickey to her new role.

‘I am confident that she will make a strong contribution to meeting the technical and practical challenges associated with the implementation of IFRSs,’ Sir David added.

The IASCF is the oversight body of the IASB.
