Pre Budget Report could be earlier than expected
Speculation is growing that Gordon Brown's Pre Budget Report will come on 31 October, earlier than the expected November date.
The report, used as a Green Budget by the Chancellor, proved controversial last year and experts expect Gordon Brown to return to the vexed subject of self assessment, among other issues, in this year’s.
The Treasurey is yet to confirm an official date but press spokesmen still stand by the official line that the pre-budget report will take place sometime in November.
However, the story circulating in the City is that the report will come on the last day of October.
