Finance directors warn of terror impact on business

More than a third of the UK’s FDs believe that the recent terror alerts, which resulted in a virtual shutdown of airports across the country, will have a negative long-term impact on business confidence

A special poll by Accountancy Age and Reed Finance found
that 34% of the country’s leading finance professionals expected the new
security measures to hurt business.

‘Events like this can only add to an international public perception that the
UK has become a front-line target for terrorism,’ said one FD.

‘This terrorist threat will fuel the current slide in the global economic
situation,’ said another.
