Risk, reward and the story behind the numbers put out by business software group Cartesis, claims that chief financial officers are no longer just ‘financial stewards’ but are strategists, with ‘an obligation for delivering the story behind the numbers’.
To achieve success, Cartesis claims, a CFO must not only monitor corporate performance, but also deliver an insightful and analytic view of company financials.
John Taylor, UK MD of Cartesis, explained that the key to making the transition from just looking after the finances to understanding exactly what is going on is achieved by ‘using technology as the platform for change, to underpin new processes and deliver insight into corporate financials’.
