Bassetlaw MP John Mann has accused mining union group UDM of trying to
reclaim £1m in VAT on behalf of union members.
According to the BBC, the Nottinghamshire-based union is understood to have
represented a number of former miners seeking compensation for hearing loss.
Unions are not allowed to reclaim VAT and trade minister Malcolm Wicks said
he was considering the matter following the comments by Mann.
The UDM has refused to comment except to say Mann should make any allegations
