Byers vows to cut red tape.

Trade secretary Stephen Byers has promised to minimise the red tape hitting small business. He told MPs in the Commons: ‘The question is the balance that needs to be struck between providing minimum rights and entitlements to people in the workplace, which we support, and doing so in a way that is light-touch and does not create the over-regulation that can often result from doing that inappropriately.’
