NYSE finance chief joins Merrill

New Merrill CEO brings former comrade across from NYSE to serve as finance chief

NEW York Stock Exchange finance chief Nelson Chai has moved to take on the
same role at Merrill Lynch.

Chai
was appointed
just a day after former NYSE chief executive John
Thain took up his new role as Merrill chief.

The new CFO starts at the bank, which wrote off billions of dollars due to
taking on sub-prime loans, on Monday.

Former Merrill CFO Jeffrey Edwards will take on a new operational role at the
bank.
