E&Y latest recruit aims to double the size of E&Y’s financial services business in Scotland
Ernst
& Young has recruited Simon Cordier in a drive to bolster its financial
services business. He is joining E&Y’s financial services advisory practice
in Scotland as a director and will be responsible for leading the financial
management (FM) team.
Cordier, who aims to double the size of the specialist team in the short
term, noted the role of the CFO (chief financial officer) had never been more
demanding. ‘There is a clear requirement from our clients to provide advice and
guidance to support the varying needs of the CFO across their strategic and
operational agendas,’ he said.
Gregor Stewart, leader of the E&Y financial services advisory practice in
Scotland, said the financial services sector would continue to grow and be a key
driver behind Scotland’s economic growth.
‘According to economic reports, the financial services sector in Scotland is
growing at an average annual rate of 8.3%, enjoying faster growth than the rest
of the UK. It is undoubtedly a key to Scotland’s current and future prosperity,’
he said.
