Corporate and insolvency portfolio for Sutcliffe

Employment minister Gerry Sutcliffe awarded ministerial responsibility for corporate and insolvency activity at the DTI

Ministerial responsibility for corporate and insolvency activity has been given to employment minister Gerry Sutcliffe in the re-re-branded Department of Trade and Industry under secretary of state Alan Johnson.

A new division of responsibilities at the department sees industry minister Alun Michael take charge of growth and business sectors, and the small business service assisted by competitiveness minister Barry Gardiner, who will also be responsible for Companies House and ‘better regulation’.
