OFT makes Wright appointment
The former director of the Serious Fraud Office, Rosalind Wright, has been appointed to the new strategic board of the Office of Fair Trading.
The new board – and the appointment of non-executives – has been created after the OFT received new powers in the Enterprise Act, given Royal Assent in November last year.
Wright was recently succeeded at the SFO by her deputy Robert Wardle.
The increased responsibility of the OFT – the consumer watchdog – has also seen the transfer of statutory powers from the director general to the strategic board.
