Companies not supporting payroll charity schemes

Businesses are missing the boat when it comes to supporting charities by not offering schemes that allow staff to make donations through their salaries.

A KPMG survey of 1,100 workers found that 60% of respondents did not have schemes in the workplace allowing them to make regular donations.

The Financial Times reported KPMG’s Alison Maitland as saying that the schemes are also tax efficient as they allow employees to enjoy tax relief on their donations.
