SHAC pulls out of Deloitte protests

Animal rights campaign group SHAC has abandoned its campaign against Big Four firm Deloitte & Touche after the firm said late last Friday that it would no longer be providing audit services for Huntingdon Life Sciences.

SHAC originally said it would continue the campaign against Deloitte but has been convinced that the firm has severed all ties with the drugs testing company over the weekend.

The group is now turning its attention on HLS customers but warned any firm considering taking on the company’s audit that they would receive the same treatment as Deloitte.

Natasha Avery, spokeswoman for SHAC, said: ‘We’ll see who has taken on the audit when the first quarter figures come out and that firm will have to deal with us.’
