    AIB group FD steps down

    AIB group FD John O'Donnell has left the bank

    Allied Irish Banks (AIB) group finance director John O’Donnell retired from
    the bank yesterday.

    O’Donnell announced his retirement alongside chief executive Eugene Sheehy
    and chairman Dermot Gleeson in April.

    He joined
    AIB
    as associate director, AIB International Finances in 1989, before
    becoming MD in 1995 – joining the board in 2006 after other senior roles.

    AIB received a 3.5billion Euros loan boost from the Irish government in May.
