Companies mismanage fixed assets
Web services promise to bring a variety of benefits to companies, creating businesses that can respond swiftly to customer demands, markets opportunities or external threats, according to a leading IT consultant.
James Neophytou, consultant at IBM Business Consulting services, will host a seminar for beginners at Softworld’s spring event. He set up the event because he says most information about web services is riddled with three-letter acronyms and loses even the most IT literate accountant by the first mention of W3C or WS-I.
He said: ‘Business enterprises are tending to move away from buying technology for new “cutting edge” functionality with a dubious ROI, and are instead acquiring tools and services that improve their current business processes.’
