Barrie Macey has become the head of the international tax services group for Ernst & Young's southern region, offering advice and support to companies operating in global markets.
Based at the firm’s Reading office, Macey specialises in tax advice for multinational companies, especially US-owned corporates based in the UK, with particular experience in the areas of tax-efficient movement of software ownership and technology rights. He recently lobbied the UK government on taxation issues affecting inward investors on behalf of a group of major US companies. Macey is a past leader of Ernst & Young’s National Technology Industry Group and is the Thames Valley chapter president for the European American Tax Institute.
