Ex-Andersen CA takes National Express role

National Express, the transport company responsible for both bus and rail operations, has appointed a new finance director.

Adam Walker has been promoted from corporate development director before next Thursday’ results.

He was previously a director of corporate finance at Arthur Andersen, before joining National Express in 2001. The 35-year-old is understood to be receiving a package in the region of £250,000.

Commenting on the appointment, Phil White, the groups chief executive said: ‘Adam’s appointment is particularly pleasing as his appointment follows interviews with a number of high calibre external candidates.’
