Green Budget: GDP growth only 1.6% this year

Chancellor Brown has said that GDP growth this year will be at 1.6%, falling below the previously held target of 2.5%.

Yet despite this he claimed that the UK would still be one of the most robust economies in the world today.

He continued by saying that GDP growth would rise to between 2.5% and 3% the following year and between 3% and 3.5% the year after.
