Companies House and company law have long been a bane to companies, who, over the years, have bemoaned the requirements imposed by the Cardiff-based organisation.
Help is at hand, however, and there are those that know how to explain things to accountants who don’t understand. Last week, Jonathan Rickford, project director of the Company Law Review, took to Lego bricks to illustrate his point. He kept it simple. ‘Here we have four red blocks of Lego,’ he began. Well, he didn’t really, but you get the picture. However, some in the audience clearly thought the plastic bricks were out of place. ‘Companies House is full of rubbish,’ cried one accountant.
