    SAP asks for mediator in Oracle row

    SAP asks for mediation over lawsuit brought against it by Oracle over corporate theft

    German business software giant SAP has called for a mediated and speedy
    resolution to the lawsuit brought against it by rival Oracle for corporate
    theft.

    Oracle, which claims that SAP collated its rival’s software illegally through
    downloads, said the pulling together of data and documents would take at least
    18 months.

    SAP has called for a mediator to help the parties reach a settlement or
    manage Oracle’s claim, reported Reuters.

    Oracle said SAP’s proposal was an attempt to limit the investigation.

    SAP has admitted that subsidiary TomorrowNow downloaded Oracle
    customer-support documents, but denies Oracle’s claim that it put the documents
    into a library of stolen material.
