A director of a company specialising in personalised car registration plates has been jailed for two years for evading tax on rental income which he paid into offshore accounts in Jersey. Basildon company director Melvin Crump was sentenced to two years in jail last month at Basildon Crown Court. Crump is the controlling director of McMel & Co Ltd, a UK registered company operating from Shenfield, Essex, which specialises in producing cherished car registration plates.
