Banking experts have warned foreign investors will be deterred from investing
in the UK if the tax regime is too tough.
Chris Jones, UK financial services leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers made the
comments before a joint CBI/PwC “Future of Financial Services” report was
“The shift in the global economy towards the East will present significant
challenges for the UK’s financial services industry and for London as a centre,
” Jones said.
“Too much or inappropriate regulation or tax will also have a negative impact
on incoming investment to London.”
The report marks 20 years of financial services surveys jointly released by
the two organisations.
